American Airlines 2017

Back in 2015 I flew with American Airlines for the first time and even back then on this flight (AA251, FRA-MIA) although it was a 23 years old Boeing 767-300, I was stoked about American Airlines.

Currently, American Airlines is the worlds biggest airline and founding member of Oneworld Alliance.

In summer 2017 they fly to Frankfurt from Philadelphia (PE), Charlotte (NC) and Dallas (TX).

Because American cancelled the non-stop flight Frankfurt-Miami from winter 2015/16, I was "forced" to fly via Philadelphia to Miami and return via Charlotte back to Frankfurt.. Both long-haul flights are operated by an Airbus A330-200.

On the flights from and to Miami, the airline operates with Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A321.

WiFi on board:

On almost all US-domestic flights, American Airlines offers internet. You can choose between a ticket for one day or a monthly rate for frequent flier. An One-Day pass costs 16 $ plus taxes on domestic flights and expires after 12 months. American Airlines Plan costs 49,95 (+ taxes) per month.

Also there is WiFi on all long-haul flights. American Airlines distinguishes between:

2 hour card (cost: 12 $)

4 hour card (cost: 17 $)

entire flight (cost: 19 $)

You can buy your internet-passes either with a credit card or with PayPal during your flight. The website of American Airlines is also available without buying a pass.
